About us

Kelsey Farms is owned by Paul Kelsey who is the third generation 'Kelsey' to be farming on this land.

The day to day running of the business is managed by Paul and his business partner, Jon Rix.

"We are part of a new generation of growers whose focus is to produce high quality, high yielding crops taking all care and due diligence in respect of our customers, employees and the environment."

As part of our commitment to this process, we are members of the Red Tractor Farm Assurance scheme, Tescos Nurture (Gold),  LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming), the Waitrose Farm Assessment scheme, BRC (British Retail Consortium) packhouse audit and Ethical Trading scheme Sedex. Each of these schemes requires us to undergo whole farm audits, carried out by independent inspectors, covering health & safety, pesticide use, re use and recycling, energy efficiency, water use efficiency, pollution assessment and environmental and conservation performance. We also undertake an Ethical Trading Audit which looks at worker wellfare, wages and conditions.

Our pack house is  BRC (British Retail Consortium, Grade A) compliant which ensures best practice through the post harvest packing stage.

We also have a refrigerated vending machine on site which allows us to sell our fruit in season to anyone passing by.

Did you know...

  • Kelsey Farms expect to pick over 182,000,000 raspberries this season which, if laid end to end, would stretch around the M25 over 18 times.
  • Raspberries contain strong antioxidants, including vitamin C, that help fight against cancer, heart and circulatory disease and age related decilne.
  • The Strawberry is the only berry that has seeds on its external surface.
  • Strawberries are also rich in vitamin C, fibre, folic acid and potassium. They can reduce the risk of cancers and heart attacks and help in the reduction of systolic blood pressure. Fresh juice from strawberry pulp helps in recovering from fever and if combined with honey can also reduce inflammation.
