Terms and conditions
If you work for us you will be employed as a temporary seasonal worker. Due to the uncertainty of the crops, weather and daily demand of our customers, we cannot guarantee either the number of hours of work every day or the number of days work a week. You will be living and working with people from different countries, some of whom may be managers or supervisors.
Rates of pay are guided by the Living Wage regulations , which are updated annually.
Many jobs undertaken are paid using the piecework method. This means the more you do the more you can earn. Good fast pickers can earn significantly more than the minimum wage. Productivity targets are set to allow workers to measure their performance.
Work starts early in the morning, especially when it is hot. We normally work 5 – 6 days a week depending on the crop and the weather conditions. Overtime is voluntary.
Kelsey Farms complies with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) base code, a copy of which is kept in our farm office. The base code is designed to protect the rights of all employees in respect of race, colour, sex, discrimination and wages.
